Trust me people, Software field is not about softwares and technologies and programming and etc...
It is about working with people.
All of above was Theory, now let me give you some practical tips which I have learned from my experience.
Lessons & tips: Lot of lesson I have learned from this task and learning on daily basis. I will update this story and also blog it on my Blog afterwards.
I have a software startup in India who deals in providing customized end to end business solutions.
1) Prioritize :
This is most important aspect because if you have a startup at low scale than you will have to play multiple roles in your organization. You are the Tele Caller, Director, Manager, Sales Man, Accountant, Programmer, Tester, Support Staff, HR, PEON. So you have to perform almost all the tasks this Jobs want you to perform. You have 24 Hours in day only, so you have to prioritize your work. Use Tools for personal organization like Outlook, To Do Lists, Reminders, Sticky Notes to make sure you know what you are supposed to do. After getting the list prioritize them according to your schedule.
2. Automate :
After doing lot of tasks you will know that you can automate few of them so that you don't need to pay attention on them again and again. For Example if you are paying your telephone bills by visiting the telephone payment office, try to find online solution for it. Try to perform all the tasks from your office only and try to minimize the time you need to spend outside the office.
3. Buy and Use best tools : Always try to get best tools for the job. If you are buying internet connection make sure you buy the best available internet connection you afford. Same applies to computer hardware. Spare a dedicated server for your source code management, proxy server, Active Directory Login etc. Backup it regularly. This is very important.
4. Give Support : Always make sure you keep your word. If it is not possible for you to do something say NO gently to your client. Always answer call/mail of your client.
Some of them I want to share with you.
